Executive Members

Their duties

1. Review the activities of the organization during the previous year.
2. Review the overall finances of the organization and arrange for an audit if need arises.
3. Discuss all the activities of the organization to be undertaken during the current year.
4. Allocate undefined and new activities and events to different committees for the current year.
5. Allocate basic operating expenses to different committees.
6. Discuss the overall policies of the organization during the current year.

Executive member selection process

In 2010, it was decided that member families will be drawn into the executive body by rotation. This process would ensure that all our member families get fair opportunity to serve on the top leadership body. And, our organization would benefit from the high energy and new ideas, expected from its new leaders. The same year, an ordered members list was prepared through lottery, by drawing names (randomly) from the pool of standing members. The first five (5) families (from the list) formed the Executive body in 2010. When that term ended, next five (5) consecutive member families (from the same list) took responsibility of the executive body for the next one year term. And, the process has continued. Exceptions are accommodated - If a member is not able to serve for a term for reasons such as relocation, illness, family emergency etc. the next member from the list is picked. Newcomers are added to the bottom of the list. When members leave, the member list is adjusted, keeping the same order.
